Ooh...there is new Olukara with lovibe to boot entitled u an i (prod. by lovibe, additional prod. by Olukara), and damn do I love the way this track does its diddy bop.

After being away for an extended period, Olukara has returned with a fantastic hybrid cut. U an I's percussion peppers in a rhythm with missing space quickly filled by skidding kicks featuring a tightly wound sound. The beat's elements, although minimal, exists in tightly kept quarters so their vocals catch the inviting rhythm immediately.

Lovibe's looped vocals carry an almost unnatural pitch. Listening to how catchy the loop is doesn't fall on deaf ears. The simultaneous break and blend of the main rhythm she does with her vocals holds that house bounce. Olukara spits in the foreground of the rhythm and the background vocals in a monotone style reminiscent of how Fab would do so, predominately around the hook. His talked verses, still in that monotone style, highlights how their relationship rocks through everyday life. His flow meshes into every other rhythm, yet stands out from all other sounds. U an I catches these comfortable pockets you can't help but move to, even when the samples play, but especially when Olukara briefly interpolates XO Tour Llif3.

U an I bounces directly to your memory bank. And because of this, you won't be able to get any section of the song out of your head.

Listen to u an i below.
